Sea Turtles International Day

For those who are unaware, the day of 16th June is celebrated as the sea turtles international day, defined by the birth of Dr. Archie Carr, University of Florida professor.

He is responsible for most of the studies on biology and turtles life cycle.

His books and studies are recognized by scientists around the world. He managed to interact with local hunters and fishermen of tortoises, and form an alliance with governments and supporters to species conservation.

Even today, his knowledge in the area remains current and accurate.
