Sunken aircrafts can compose a new diving point in Pernambuco

From September 2013, divers with scheduled trips to cities of Recife and Porto de Galinhas can enjoy new diving places to practice the activity.

Wrecked aircrafts models of Vasp 727-200 and 737-200, if purchased by Pernambuco authorities, shall be sunk to integrate the Shipwrecks Marine State Park.

According to the newspaper “Diário de Pernambuco”, if Department of Environment can not buy those Boeings, two other aircrafts – including outside Brazil – may be traded. But this process can become expensive due to the transfer cost.

We are in the process of acquiring, negotiating some alternatives, and seeing the proper location on the seabed“, said secretary Sergio Xavier.
